A letter to workers at the Coylumbridge Hotel in Aviemore, owned by Britannia Hotels, emerged earlier this week, which terminated employment and told affected staff to leave their accommodation immediately. The firm was heavily criticised, including by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon who said she "unreservedly condemns" the decision. Somewhere warmer, brighter and more spacious, full of joie de vivre.  The very idea of France, with its buttery morning croissants, leafy vineyards and noble chateaux seems like an unbridled decadence in these times.  And there, from Paris to Nice, bars, cafés and restaurants have reopened at last. Some hotels, too, have already flung open their doors.
